Originally from China, the Pug is a direct descendant of the "Paï ", a small miniature dog well appreciated by Chinese Emperors. At the beginning of the XVIe century, when the business of the silk was starting between the Occident and the China we start seeing those little dogs in Europe.
The Pug is a small intelligent dog, rapid, playful and very loyal to its master. It doesn't always appreciate the presence of strangers, being very attach to its master, we must show it to appreciate the company of other people in our immediate surrounding.
It is build compact and muscular, it is a strong dog, it needs to exercise to keep in shape. It is a good watcher, it likes action. They are from 14 to 18 pounds (6.5 to 8 kg.). Grooming is easy and speedy.
