The American Polydactyl is characterized by extra toes on the feet. The size of this cat is from medium to large. They have a powerful and broad chest and head with ears set wide apart. A square muzzle but not foreshortened. They are short hair or long hair and come in all colors.
They may be tailless, short tails or have full-length tails. This is a dominant gene. The cats may be polydactyl only on front feet, only on hind feet, or on all feet.
These cats are very outgoing and friendly, they do enjoy the company of humans and dogs.
